The AIM at Melanoma Foundation is a multi-faceted foundation. They are not just about research or just about education. They also genuinely care for the individuals who are currently battling melanoma as well as their caretakers. In fact, the founders and the majority (if not all) of the staff at AIM have either had a loved one battle melanoma or did so themselves. They know what it's like. I have had the honor of being chosen as an AIM Mentor in the Peer Connect Program. This means I am matched with other young ladies who are currently going through what I have already and we are kind of like pen pals. We do not know each other beforehand, but have the ability to communicate through email, text, etc. about our stories, doctor appointments, and are there for just someone to talk to that understands the circumstances. If you are interested in joining this program, either as a mentor or mentee, then follow this link (AIM Peer Connect). This program can also be for caretakers!
