Dermatologist Visit

It's August 2014, a year after I first went to the doctor and found out I had Melanoma. I'm not sure where I thought I would be at this point in my journey with Melanoma. However, I did have an overwhelming reassurance from the beginning that no matter what, I would be okay with it. This past year, I've been very blessed to not have any more "scares" with my Melanoma and thank God for it every single day.
A few days ago, I went for a check-up at my dermatologist. This has become a regular routine for me because I have several check-ups throughout the year, so I do not think much of it. As I walked into my patient room, I knew there may be a slight chance that I have to have another spot removed on me. I had been keeping a close eye on a mole on my lower, right leg for the past several months. I knew it was very dark, irregular, and larger than normal.
When my dermatologist came in, she handed me my robe to slip on so that she could give me a full body check. Just as I had suspected, she circled the spot on my leg I was worried about and continued up the rest of my body. She asked me if I knew about the mole on my leg. I replied yes because I frequently check myself after showering. She asked me a few more questions before stating that she would like to go ahead and remove the mole on my leg that day. At this point, I would much rather get potentially dangerous spots on me removed before it's too late so I had no problem with it.
She prepped me for my minor operation, and a few minutes later, it was completed. No harm done, except for the half inch wide scrape on my leg that was sure to scar just like my other one.
As I left, I knew the next couple weeks may be hard waiting for the results, but I had faith in God and the support of family and friends to keep my spirits high.
Until next time... <3
